Okay,
It seems that I lost my seat bolt on my last ride....kind of important to me. Does anyone know what size bolt, type threads it is? I need to rig up a temporary one until I can get a new one.....thank you, JIM

Hey Alaska,
Go to Cannondale's web-site and go to the "Parts Catalog" section. Download it and you will have all these items to look at when ever you need to.

Just pull up the pic of the seat assembly and related hardware. It wil give you the size and thread pitch of the bolt you are looking for.

Hey Jim,
The collar that the hand bolt screws into in the seat came out on my first ride. I epoxied it back in for about two rides. I haven't used it since! 30 rides and a little big air later, I've never lost my seat. Now, when I lost the seat bracket at the front... I worried. Just my .02.

The bolt is an 8x25mm, part number is 819-6000439.

Mine didn't have the bolt when I got it. They did order me one though, should be here Monday. Doesn't it have a large black **** on the end? Maybe drill it and run a wire to the subframe incase it backs out??

Yes, it has a large black **** on the end; Cannondale's parts catalog says it's an 8x40mm bolt. JIM

That's interesting, I downloaded the 2002 Cannibal parts catalog, dated 10/01 and it lists the **** bolt size as M8x25MM. Maybe the Speed's bolt is different size??

Alaska400EX, what is the part number that you found?

Actually, I'm not sure mine had one when I got it, but I didn't notice until about a month after I got it so I just stuck a bolt in.
