Horsepower #'s for SPEED?????

33HP for the SPEED as well. The SPEED and CANNIBAL have the exact same engines and the mapping to is identical other than the SPEED's 1000RPM higher rev-limit.
The BLAZE and MOTO have 39HP with the rev limit of the SPEED.
The only thing you get with the SPEED over the CANNIBAL is the higher rev limit, different color, better suspension, cool seat cover, and TAG handlebars,.......OH....and weighs 5lbs less than the CANNIBAL

Knowsalot....I assume the 6 horses are attained through mapping? I don't know a lot about the C-dales fuel mapping....but 6 seems to me a big increase. Is the Cannibal and Speed detuned with a more restrictive air box inlet? If all of the C-dales have the same air box configuration......then how are the Cannibal and Speed not running lean with apparantly less fuel being injected? Thanks!

Very good question gary, I would like to see some answers to this as well. Those numbers are lower than I had heard from other people. I had heard 42-54 hp for the moto and that the speed was 39 stock. I assume knowsalot has a much better source of this information <--------- i.e. "cannondale". I am curious if anyone is running the moto or blaze pipe on thier cannibal or speed with a remap or maybe a curtis sparks, all I ever see anyone running is the hmf. I would also be interested in fmf's Quiet series to see how it performs as noise is a big issue around here.

The Cannibal/Speed @ 33HP and Blaze/Moto @ 39HP come straight from Cannondales sales brochure and those are rear wheel HP numbers. The Blaze/Moto have high performance mufflers compared to the Cannibal/Speed. With the EFI setup on the Cannondales, the fuel and ignition are both controlled by the computer and that is how they can be setup with identical everything except muffler and have different power characteristics without affecting engine durability or reliability.

Just to put it in perspective... The same brochure that says the Cannibal has 33 HP, also says the 400ex has 21, Raptor has 28, and DS has 37. From the #'s I have heard the most, the Cannibal has 39, 400ex has 26, Raptor 36 (or somewhere around there), and DS at 42. I dunno, I wanna see what the real #'s are for myself.

Here are your answers...
The HP numbers quoted by C-Dale (33 for the Cannibal, for instance) are from a Superflow dyno.
Superflow dyno's yeild numbers lower than those from a DynoJet dyno. Look at Cannondale's HP numbers for a 400EX, Raptor, and DS650 - all low... This also explains why a bone stock c-dale can run with or outrun piped Raptors and some of the piped Banshees in sand drags.
The numbers YoDaddy posted sound very close to all the stuff I've seen (and seen at the strip)
Power increases on the Moto and Blaze come from mainly a freer flowing exhaust and the mapping you can run because of that.
Think of it like taking your radical race engine and plugging it up with a restrictive exhaust - you're going to have to reduce timing and lean it out to deal with the poorly tuned exhaust. Open it up, tune for it and you can get substantial gains.
The cool thing is that they didn't really neuter the engine - you can make your Cannibal or Speed perform like a Moto with an exhaust and the proper tuning (mapping).
Other than peak HP, the real news is that there are larger gains in the midrange from exhaust and mapping.
