thats good news but it brings up another subject. how much do those computers cost? it seems logical that a cannibal could be made to run as like a moto or blaze with the computer, remapping, and exhaust changes. has anyone ever tested this idea? other than that their motors are identical aren't they?

BTW, seeing as you own both how does the dale compare to the new Z? i had thought the Z to be all hype. their not out here locally just yet. i figured they would run about like a piped EX or maybe alittle stronger. but for me that sounds like a demotoin. my ex is already above and beyond that. and i know thats not considering the aftermarket for the zuk but i dont see how they claim 35 hp stock and 52 with just a pipe and rejet. thats alittle hard to believe. i know its the new machine on the market and everyone wants it to be the most awsome ride on the planet but we have to be resonable. thats a claim of over a 15 hp jump on a stock machine. thats more than those raptor guys claim, which i still dont believe. ahhh i've got way off topic again sorry. but maybe im wrong and it is all that and a bag of chips. so to speak. then thats a very impressive package for the price range.

You're exactly right, the motors for all the C'dales are identical except for their "maps". I own a Cannibal and I sent my computer off to R&S and had them download the Moto map along with installing an HMF silencer. It made a big difference in low to mid power and maybe a little on the top end. So from a power stand point, I now have a Moto except for the sprocket differences between the 2 quads.

CD,

At this time most if not ALL the quads will be shipping with the 1000ECU. With this ECU you will have all of the abilities to change maps, up Redline and adjust all of the perameters that are allowed. All of the quads use the same motor, exhaust is different on the Moto and Blaze, R&S has a slip on and remap for around 230.00?? This will give you more in the bottom than the top end.

The computer will not have to be upgraded if it's the 1000. Even with the 500 you could run whatever map you wanted, just some of the adjustments won't be avalible.

Good luck

Smitty

According to R&S that cost him around $189 w/ the pipe! With the new model 2002 they are all the same computer, you just have to have a new fuel injection map loaded into the computer. What corndog had was a EARLY 2002 that had the 500 and not the newer 1000. Its very easy to tell the difference if you were gonna buy used. Also the 500 does not put you at a disadvantage, its just not as customizable, I beleive Ryanstones has one and is very happy. As far as low and midrange, you would notice a lack of it in tight woods correct? I have been riding those since I got mine and it is great. In fact when my friends want to ride my bike (all the time) I don't even hop on there ex's(400,416,440) I just stand there and wait for my speed to come back, there is no comparison! Also you should be able to find a dealer that has a demo bike, every dealership I was at had at least a fx400 or a cannibal, and I beleive a dealership in Oklahoma has a MOTO! Hope this helps.

Let me get this straight a buddy of yours spent 14,000 on a quad that is realitivly the same speed as yours stock and yours is still "quicker"? or did he mean yours is quick stock?
Just to clarify, because if he spent 14,000 on a quad (you could tack a scrambler for 14,000 and beat a dale) and yours is still quicker?
I'll give the dales credit they will probably my first 4 stroke but COME ON. 14,000 would put the shee in the 120 MPH range and the HP well over 90.

Only 4,000 in the engine. But still that does seem quite farfetched.
The dales are nice but thats unreal.

let me explain...
14,000.00 is the figure he gave me not something i made up
alot of that $ has been put into many areas of that quad, not just the motor...
chrome a arms, chrome swingarm, works shocks all the way around, steering dampner, lots of shiny billet parts,graphics,3rd set of pistons, airbox mods, chain, sprockets etc etc
in other words its race ready front to back
heres the dilema...it has so much wheelspin it cant put the power to the ground like my "C"
im gone while hes tryin to find traction...now once he gets his rubber underneath him its a different story
in sept of 2000 we radared his quad on pavement at 86.5mph!!!
im quicker/hes faster on the top by a long shot
hopefully this helps clarify

That's odd, I don't have work shocks or longer A-arms. I do have 650$ in my quad (pipes and air filter. I GPS'd my quad at 82.3. I was blown away by at least 5 quads by another banshee that had 2,000 in the motor (alba port and polish, reeds, bore all the goods).
Maybe he is just running stock tires?
Either way for a four stroke to spin up faster than two is impressive in itself, maybe your friends needs some quality control on his check book lol

Anyway, if your close to Nebraska let me know, I would love to ride with a 'dale
