Well I went to do mine yesterday for the first time and was following the directions in the owner's manual

-Pull seat, right panel and fuse
-Then loosen hose clamps and cradle fuel filter in rag and let excess fuel drain out
-Replace fuel filter and replace all parts

All went well for me but they left a step out!!! The excess fuel NEVER stops draining, you need to unplug the quick release at the elbow on the bottom of the fuel tank. This will stop the flow of fuel and you won't get your garage smelling like a da*n gas station.

This might sound elemetary, don't know if you are suppose to infer this or not, I wish they would have left out the step about the seat and plastic and put this one in, haha.

Anyway I figured if this got me, then it might help someone else changing theirs for the first time.

I did the same thing the first time on the quick release. I change my filter after every race. You change change it with removing any parts from the quad, Just loosen the hose clamps & pull the old filter out and put a new one in (don't forget about that quick release connector on the tank though). One side not I get my filters from Napa auto parts for $2.50 it's the wix version P/N 3011.
