Was just talking to my wife about my impending Speed purchase and was telling her estimated base price and was also hinting about a Moto. She asks, "Now with this Speed are you going to be buying shocks and axles and a-arms and all sorts of parts?" I told her probably, but not immediately after purchasing the quad. I was telling her how the Moto comes with nearly everything I'd want to eventually purchase anyway. Then she goes, "Well how much is that Moto?" I told her it stickers for $12000. So she says, "Well why don't you just buy the Moto that way I don't have to watch our credit card bills rise as you buy stuff for the Speed."

What I'm getting at is my wife just told me to go straight for the Moto!!

Guy,
Now THAT is the ultimate "voice of reason"!........LOL. Now it would seem you are almost forced into buying a Moto, what a terrible position to be in...lol. I know if it was me, I would have been down to the dealer before the last word dropped from her lips, no sense in having her sleep on it......: ) JIM

Sorry, not looking at adopting any 17 year olds, that's just another mouth to feed (which could be money towards the quad)

Jim, I sure am lucky to have a wife that's so level-headed She was just sick of seeing me dump $1000 or more into every quad I buy within 2 weeks of ownership so she told me that if I buy the one that's already modded she'd rather have that than spend $150/month on a quad payment and then have rising credit card bills from mods as well. The LT hit the trader today so we'll see what happens over the next several weeks.

Guy,
That works great for you "lightweights"...lol, but us guys over the 200+lb mark have to send the shocks out to get them revalved and sprung anyway. I figure I am into my Speed now for about 9000.00 and only need a-arms to bring my Speed up to a Moto's level of performance. I don't really count the expense of a silencer and remap, since it is minimal. So tops, I would say I am going to be into my Speed for 10,000.00 complete MX ready. The extra 2 grand goes to my wife for being so understanding. Actually we have a pretty good way of dealing with hobby spending. If I spend 2 grand on my quad, she takes 2 grand out of the checking account and does what she wants and vica versa. It works out well for us..........JIM

Good deal Guy! Wish my fiancee was like that.....I had to beg and plead to sell my 400ex(which she bought me nerfs and a bumper for) and get the Cannibal. Hope you can sell the LT soon. Let me know if you wanna come down to PA and ride mine.

Man that is one good woman!
what she doesn't realize of course is that there are always mods.

Every time i talk about quads/mods she gets out the furniture catalogs or goes to the antique shops!
So we got lots of furniture/antiques last year as well as three new quads.
