Hey guys. I thought I read someplace about this before but I can't seem to find it now. My brother in law has a 02 cannibal. Last weekend we raced. When we got home from the race we unloaded the machines and there was oil on the gound of the trailer under his machine. All over the front of it. We seemed to trace it back and it looked like it was coming from around the air box? Now he did roll it on the last lap? Not sure if that would have anything to do with it at all? But is this right? We did run pretty hard all day but it did seems like a lot of oil? Any insight would be great here..
thanks

My quad got rolled and oil came out by the filter from the breather it fills the chamber in the right frame spar down by the swingarm pivot. The best thing to do is when you get the quad back on four wheels pull off the lower hose that goes to the chamber and let the oil drain out then when you start it it wont get blown all over the air filter you probably should check oil level right away too.During a race there really isnt time but really if a guy rolls over the race is pretty much done anyway.

You must follow the oil refilling procedure to the letter after an oil change. Adding the listed amount of oil, 1700cc's (?) , without checking, is usually too much. Most likely , he overfilled with motoroil creating too much pressure in the frame resevoir when you guys were wearing it out at high revs. I'll bet even with all the leaked oil it still has too much. If it has been rolled, remove and clear the right side lower frame spar oil lines above/behind the footpeg like c'dale27 said.
This has happened to quite a few riders. Clean the filter and electronics tray, check the oil level warm, and don't worry about it. I've read of other quads, prairie 650, with this issue too.
had it been rolled? good luck.

from what i've read around with every body the oil you are seeing is mostly from the roll over it wont hurt anything unless a whole lot of oil has been transferred up to the air box .

Mostly just a mess to clean up once you figure out where it came from and dissambely is time comsuming
