Here is how you set it up. The top clip. Moving it up and down changes the overall pre-load. If you move the clip up there will be less pre-load.
The two threaded rings adjust where the top spring stops working. This will affect how much roll you have and also how much "plush" travel you will have. You must hold the bottom ring and turn the top ring counter clockwise this will allow you turn the top ring freely by hand. As you turn the top ring you will notice that the threaded collar on the inside of the spring will move down as you turn it counter-clockwise. Got it?
Here is an example. Overall the front suspsension is too harsh, your'e coming up out of ruts etc..(I'm assuming that you tried lowering compression damping & re-bound damping already and it didn't help or caused the suspension to become unbalanced). Move the top clip up two notches. Now you go ride it and it feels a lot better through the whoops and rough sections, but it rolls really bad in the turns. Now you would adjust the inner threaded collar up (by turning the upper ring clockwise) so that it cuts out the top spring sooner.
I know this is confusing. Hope I helped.
