I got a question... need your opinions!

Ok, this question has sort of already been asked but I couldn't find anything about it when I searched.
I use Valvoline Durablend synthetic blend 10w-40 in my Cannibal and use some regular 85w in the tranny. I feel like the motor oil is good but I want to switch to a different tranny oil, so what would yall recommend? I race MX and am pretty hard on it, so what would hold up the best? Do yall think I should switch to a different motor oil?
Also, this question doesn't have to do with the oil, but do you MX racers use your clutch all the time when switchin gears. As a lot of you racers know, when you are goin down a straight away, wide open, when it's REALLY rough, reaching for the clutch isn't very handy and a lot of times I just rev it out and grab another gear w/o using the clutch. I know of a lot of people that do the same thing and I don't think it's really hurting it, and when your side by side with someone in a race to the next corner, the slight hesitation of power you get from pulling in the clutch doesn't help you get there first. So I was just wondering what your opinions on that subject was.
Thanks.

I run 0w40 polaris synthetic oil in the engine and 80w Bel ray gearsaver in the tranny.
As for shifting I use the clutch when I downshift, but when grabbing for a higher during a race normally just burp the throttle and grab the next gear.

I use castrol full synthetic in the top end and maxama MTL 85 weight
for the trany.I tried bell ray and honda trany oil and they both turned discolered faster than the maxama oil.
I use my clutch when I up shift unless im in the air coming over a jump I just click up.I do the same down shifting.Every now and then I down shift with out the clutch off the gas.

I've been running Klotz fully synthetic 20w50 in the engine and Honda HP 85w tranny fluid. Def. recommend the Honda tranny fluid...good stuff.
I think I'm going to switch to Mobil 1 20w50 though for the engine. She's good and broke in now, and $8 a quart is too much! Wally World sells the Mobil...I ran it in my 400ex with no problems.
There's been a few times I haven't used my clutch in a race. I don't think it hurts it too bad...

I run a castrol 10w30 semisynthetic in the top end of the motor . and for the transmission i run slick 50 transmission oil it keeps a nice color through the window till about 25-30 hours then it starts to turn brown .
As far a clutch umm depends on the situation !

hey man take it easy on the trans. I run my 440ex mx to. I was the same way until i blew the clutch basket and trans out of it. If you would ride a few hour a day practicing half pull you will be satisefied with the results and will be easier on the bike. good luck.

Straight from the company that built 'em:
The factory uses Maxima MTL in the tranny and Golden Spectro in the motor. The R&D crew likes Redline oils.
These weren't suggestions that it's what should be run all the time, but if it's what the factory uses, got to be good stuff. I was told to use synthetics and not to use gear oil in the trans- it's a thicker blend of whatever.
I was happy to hear about the Maxima in the trans. cause of good experiences with Maxima myself. I bought a fairly used 97 Warrior a couple years back and rode it hard myself for about a year and a half. The guy told me he had always used Maxima oil and I did the same. When I rebuilt it, the piston and cylinder, cam and rockers were all in excellent shape. That is except for the fact that the cylinder was worn .007(almost 10 over without being bored!). It showed good, uniform wear and I was very impressed with how well the oil protected all surfaces. Based on that, I'm a believer in MAxima products and Cannondale using it only reinforces that.
BTW, the Warrior is .060 over now with a bump in compression-Wiseco forged 11:1. 362cc's and ready to rip(for someone). Unfortunately not as well suspended as the 'Dale or that would probably still be my primary ride. Wanna' buy it?? I gotta' pay for that 'dale.

Yo- forget the clutch, even some of us 2001 raptors do not use it. Most stuff can be fixed with a little or a lot of $$$$.
LOL
I run Klotz 85W in my R.. And you've seen how the tranny in it has held up.(Another funny joke) I know Phillip didn't use the clutch on it when he had it, and my gears looked brand new. I'll be seeing them again soon anyways
So umm, would it be okay to have 2 Cannondales in Winnsboro?
