My Season Finale

I wanted to go with the ITP "Edge Series" front wheels, but I couldn't find anyone that had them in stock and a call to ITP directly informed me that they were out and hadn't scheduled the next run.
Since we are also a Honda dealership, I ordered a set of stock 400EX wheels. They aren't the best in the world, but I have never bent a Honda wheel and they also make the Cannibal narrower in the front, which I feel was needed for the tight courses that I race anyway.
Handling is much quicker than the wide offset ITP wheels that come on the Cannibal. It's night and day. Anytime you move the centerline of the wheel closer to the balljoint, you get better handling. Cannondale needs to widen the Cannibal A-arms by one inch and put the Honda offset on the wheels. It does make a big difference.
It feels a bit more tippy now, but not as much as say....a Raptor

One interesting item is that the Cannibal control arms are already 1/2" longer than a 400EX - The Honda wheels are offset 1/2" more inside than stock Cannibal wheels - stock Cannibal hubs have 1/2" less difference from the wheel mounting surface to the center of the balljoint than a 400EX.

Stick with the 400ex rims, there are hard to beat in the woods. I run mine with XCRs on them and have no problems. Suspension/steering dampner is the main thing you need for HS. Just remember that fast is smooth, and smooth is fast. Oh, and not hitting trees also helps out alot.
