Big, big money maker is lessons, atv lessons, bike lesson. I paid Marty Smith 45 hour to teach my son how to ride. Throw in some free ones for the new owners of every bike in a 100 mile radius, cash, CASH, CASH.

Yea i see that alot of the MX tracks offer lessons. The revenue streams for this project get wider the more I think about it. Good thing too.

First step is to write a business plan. You'll need to itemize all of the startup costs, monthly expenses to keep it running (including salaries because you're not going to be able to do it all yourself) and don't forget advertising and promotion. Then you'd need to calculate what your revenue streams would be and how many riders a month you'd need to break even. Be realistic and try and research your figures as much as possible to keep the guesswork down. Find yourself a good accountant and you'll be able to deduct a ton of expenses (both business and "pseudo business"
. Go and visit some track owners and ask if you can meet with them and get their advice. People love to talk, especially about themselves and you may just happen to get some great advice that will help you avoid mistakes.
Your local Small Business Association should be able to help you with writing your business plan and also put you into contact with the right people. You also want to build alliances with local politicians, and businesses. The politicians will help with any zoning restrictions you run up against and if you pitch it as a revenue stream that will bring in out-of-towners to buy gas, stay in hotels, etc they may aid in your promotion and maybe even give you tax breaks or grants??? The key is to be professional and prepared! That's where the business plan comes in. Alliances with other businesses will help in cutting costs especially if you can find people that ride and will provide you with goods and services at reduced prices just to help you see your project off the ground.

Ryanstone,
I was born in Charelston SC, but lived all over, so my neck is kinda pick, not the true red it once was.LOL You take a check?LOL
Can't stress what Ca.Cannibal said enough. Business plan, talk to other track owners about successes and failures, not just the local ones, but out of state also. Glen Helan in Ca., Red Bud, Loretta Lynns one, get as much info, before you get the checkbook out.
Is the free riding for life still good.
