Not sure about the quad yet, haven't had to take mine apart. But working on cars, the best way to get them out is to hit the side of the spindle right next to the balljoint and shock the tapered hole that the ball joint is in. Much better than beating on the threads of the balljoint, especially if you're gonna reuse them.

OK I figured that out.Next question is,When I put the moto a-arms
on my speed the gap were the arms bolt up is abot 1/2 inch to wide.
If I left it alone and bolted it up the arms will slide forward or backword 1/2 inch. Are there some spacers that go in that gap that I need?
Also on the bottem moto a-arm one side has a stright tube and the opisite tube is tapered inward.Wich side should be pointed forward the tapered in side or the straight side?
Sorry for being so dumb.

Thanks for the ball-joint tip. That is a bit of info that can help us all out.
As for the a-arms; Until someone with some sort of personal knowledge comes along, put them up there and see which way the shock mounts lign up. When I put my Lonestars on, it was quite a mystery until I figured out they'd only go one way
