Hey guys, I have a starting problem. I just changed my fuel filter and charged my battery and my 03 speed is hard to start. Please help. I called special cause he lives close by but he's to busy with his moto front end. And I'm jealous.

Need more info, is there spark, is the plug fouled, is the pump running on and on. The more you provide the better idea we have.

There is fire and the pump is working. The bike will start after about 4 or 5 tries. I think the plug is fouled I will check it tomorrow. Also the bike will idle but not for long.

If your pulling the plug make sure you repace it with the right one. I believe most people are running the #9.

Maybe your idle speed is too low. My idle sometimes has a mind of its own. The adjuster seems to back out some times. I'm on my 2nd CR8EK in 10 months of hard riding. hehe.
Is your quick'connect fuel line in rightr? Is the o-ring torn or swollen?

8 is hotter than 9, mine came with an 8 in it, but the manual says 10.

It's probably your idle speed. I've got the software and have monitored mine to set it. On my Speed, I had to set the idle up at about 25 - 2600 at startup so it will idle at 21-2200 when warmed up. The idle speed tends to drop as it warms ups, so If yours starts and only runs a little bit before cutting off, it's probably dropping idle speed as it warms and gets too low and dies.

Tip: Make sure you turn the idle screw counter-clockwise to raise the idle. My manual says clockwise which is backwards, I accidentally backed mine all the way out and it was no easy task getting it back in.

I changed oils and spark plug but it still idles slow, I thought the manual said clockwise to increase idle speed?

Special, all Glen jimped was the woop section. He was scared of everything. I was getting dressed and Ronnie(z400) went out and glen followed him. So when they got to the uphill triple and ronnie doubled it glen jaw dropped. But when they got to the BIG step up ronnie jumped it and glen stalled going up it. Ronnie dogged him all day. It was the best day of ridding I watched.
