Well basically I have been looking into buying a quad lately. I have a 03 raptor ordered but now that I have been reading about the Dales im not sure what to do. Can you guys help me out here. What are the differnces between the caninbal, speed, and raptor? These look to be my options. As far as what kind of riding im going to be doing not real sure maybe some dunes and alot of trails and hopefully some jumps. Im looking for a bike that I can buy and it will have power and everything I need so that I wont have to upgrade after I learn to ride basically. Thanks alot.

The difference between a Cannondale and the Raptor is pretty signifigant. The Cannondale will win in handling, power, top speed, and modern ingenuity. The Cannondale will lose the Price category, The Raptor is a little easier to maintain, has reverse, and the power delivery in the Raptor is completely different. The Raptor can be lugged around for a long time on tight trails, while the Dale needs to stretch its legs and run. If you are looking for a machine for going fast and beating everyone (out of the box) you need a dale. If you like reverse and the ability to lug the engine on tight trails the raptor may be your machine. Test drive a Cannondale and you will make the right choice.

The Raptor is more of a trail quad than the Dales. It has a smoother power delivery, plusher suspension and it has reverse. Other than that, I think the Dale edges out the Raptor. Slightly more power, handles better, shocks soak up the larger jumps better, lighter, and it's a better jumper.

I would get a 03 Dale. It's worth waiting for. They did make some real good changes. I would opt for the Speed. This gives you ohlins shocks the whole way around, the extra 1,000rpms, and aluminum handlebars. That should keep you more than satisfied for awhile.

I would lean more toward the Speed. The early Cannibal had the Ohlins all the way around, but had the 500 Computer. The Speed has Ohlins all the way around, Tag handlebars and some other extras. Well worth the approx $1000.00 more. Just my .02 worth.

Hey hardhitten, While it is true the raptor is somewhat better suited to slow trail riding, in my experience the raptor is also easier to get hurt on. All the raptors i have ridden with have a tendency to get away from their riders more than any other quad. They are either rolling or going over backwards. We love to hill climb and that awesome raptor torque can be a hand full at extreme angles. Just my .02.
BTW, the 'dales can be great trail quads. I did 60 miles last week, including a few hundred yards up to the fenders in water. The cannibal is a good buy too.

I agree the dale is a awesome trail quad.If the trails you ride are real tight and muddy or hilly have the dealer put the blaze map in this map makes the quad very smooth and it will lug way down. When you go to the dunes put speed map or moto then it will go through the gears so fast you will have to learn all over how to ride your quad. With the maps its like owning multiple quads.
