<< Is there anything else I can do to my bike to make it faster. Some of my competition tells me that there are some little modifications that makes a big difference. They just wont tell me what they are >>
1~Wheelie bar
2~tie down your rear suspension
3~front struts

How does it help to tie down the rear? I have been told that I should tie down the front. Do I need to tie down both? What difference does front struts make? Sorry for all the questions but I really appreciate your help.

If you look at pure drag quads you'll see they have no rear suspension.
When you launch without tying down your rear suspension the first thing that happens is your suspension compresses instead of your quad going forward, This is wasted motion & kills reaction times
Tying down the front end is the same as adding struts except it's hard to get it tied down far enough to completely compress the front shocks & do it the same way every time.
With the shocks on the front as you launch the springs help to throw your front end up & it comes up harder & faster than with struts. The struts make it so there is no assistance in bringing up the front end & it will come up slower & not as high (it has to do a dead lift with no spring assistance).
I hope I explained that so you understand it!!
You do need to change your launching style with the struts. The front end coming up high & fast transfers a lot of weight so you sit on your tank to launch to keep from flipping. I sit directly over the axle since the front end doesn't come up I shift my weight over the axle (put your hand behind your a$$ to see where you are so when you find the right spot you can sit there evey time) & when I drop the clutch at WOT it launches hard, straight, fast & with just enough wheelie to get on my wheelie bar softly.

It's not tied down in any of the pics but I completely compress the rear end before racing.
Repeatability & consistancy are the most important things in drag racing Do the same thing every time the same way & you'll be on your way.
Hope this helps!!

Mountainman,
Do you have access to load new maps. I have several "traction maps" that help the machine hook up and not break loose. They have all the top end characteristics of the other maps. The maps feel more like a two-stroke motor in the quad. Let me know.

Using straps to remove you suspension for play really seems to help, really wrench down on the staps so you have no play left in the suspension, you should then be able to nut it off the line with out wheelieing, I was also thinking about tring some tires with out much grip for dirt drags I think that might help too....

I went to a local shop and had them make me a solid suspension. I also lowered it to about three inches off the ground. I hope this helps. I am going to practice today and then I will let you know how much it helped. It sure feels weird, I just hope it helps me get a little faster. Any more tips would be appreciated.
