knowsalot, i spoke with ed smith last night and saturday when you get off work, he and you are coming over to my practice track. i also have a 125 yard drag stripe (actually my friends front yard). you will not only be facing a ported and polished 250cc r, but a 310 big bore R (mine) and my friends curtis sparks 350 big bore R. SO YOU HAD BETTER BE READY TO ROLL. LOL [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] OK, i'm taking names and opinions on the winner of the drag race. for those not in the know. knowsalot will be riding his top secret cannibal (unknown pipe and engine mods, and mapping)[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]the stripe is mowed grass and is super smooth. what do yaw think???

i have ridden the knowsalot top secret dale. the power was impressive. my drag stripe will give it plenty of room to get up and go. i'll hit 5th gear on my R, before applying the brakes.

I think it will be dead even off of the line, with the Cannondale pulling you in the long run. Think your R can hit 76-80 mph?

 

KNOWSALOT is not concerned about this. I would say he will rip the 250r apart and have it for dinner.

well it's confirmed. saturday, 14th at 5:30 p.m. i will let everyone know saturday night (if i win, or next week sometime if i lose. lol) it should be great racing. i don't expect anyone to get over 50 to 55 before they run out of room. well, just for info i will tell you the set up on my r and my buddy's r.
mine is a 2001 no-link lone star 250r chassy, 89 lenght swingarm with pep zps shocks at each end. the motor is a 20 over 310 pro-x kit, mx ported by tom miller, cranking compress on new piston is about 185 lbs. i use boyseen rad valves, with a 39 pwk carb (175 main) sparks mx pipe, custom air box with a k&n with a sparks pre-filter (foam). 18" turfs on rear, 13 (i think) tooth front sproket and 38 rear.
my friend greg will riding a 1999 arens frame 250r, t-pin with pep zps shocks. stock honda rear linkage. 350 ct motor (pro-x) that has been sent to curtis sparks to be redone. sparks 330 mx pipe, sparks reed cage, k&n filter with sparks pre-filter. 18" turf tires, not sure on carb size but a pwk. this is the fastest bike i have ever ridden. it pulls 4th and 5th gear like my bike pulls 2nd and 3th gear. i hope the cannibal wins and out performs both bikes because i really am thinking of a new four stroke for the family.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] but we shall have to see. anybody else think the hondas will win?

anyways a 350 or 310r should pull that thumper on the top end, but if you'll only hit 50-55 before you run outta room, then the thumper might still have a chance......but i think if the 2-stroke is kept on the power band it will win.

 

It's probably going to come down to traction. If it's loose then the Cannondale wins, if it's tacky then the R's win. I had a 250R with similar mods and it would always come down to the track conditions. This is assuming both have similar tires/tread.
