One other possibility of the loss of brakes that I have found is a small rock wedging between the rotor and brake pad pushing back the master cylinder, requiring a couple of pumps to get any brakes back again. Just a possiblity if you can't find any leaks or don't have any more problems or haven't had a problem before.
