New Blaze Questions?
#11
It's gonna' be interesting to see what you say about the Blaze after having that 50HP Raptor. That suspension is going to treat you right! I've got to think the Blaze won't have quite the umph your tweaked Yammie had though. I'm sure you'll let us know.

I was at the dealer last night getting a part for the speed and was taking to the saleman and he let me take is Blaze for a ride. What an awesome machine. The power was some much more smooth than the speed and the suspension, wow. This machine is definity the way to good if you ride or race in the woods. BTW he had put a +3 rear axle and had spacers in the front, making it 48" wide. This thing railed the corners alot better than my speed. This machine was just awesome, in a way I wish I would have spent the extra money and got the blaze instead.

NRATH and JayBR: We might have to take you up on that, we were talking about making a riding trip out of it, but we haven't made up our minds. I will see what my buddies want to do, and whether or not we all have the time to take off a day from work.
JeffatTQS: Thanks for the offer, once I find out what's updated and what's not I will let you know.
I will let everyone know how it compares to the 686. Some guys say it will blow it away and some say it should be close to the 686. We will see next weekend. BTW: Has anyone put their Cannondale on a Rear Wheel dyno, and if so do you have a printout? The problem with the Yamaha guys, is that the "Big" shops claimed certain HP, but never actually backed it up with true dyno sheets. My 686 should have been putting out 60-65hp at the rear wheels according to most of the shops. Just curious, I will throw it on a dyno this fall or winter just for fun.

I would definitely not skimp on the break in, as I'm sure you won't. Follow the routine and change the fluids. Your going to get some metal out of the first two changes, so don't let that stuff float around in there too long. Some dealers claim to do the break-in for you, I'm leary of it. Is yours?
Like I said, save yourself the possible disappoinment of an ill running quad and check that stator. I haven't heard of many others having the problem, but it's too easy to check to risk it. You may even be able tell with just the black cover on the right side removed-4 phillips screws. The clip is on the top left, just under th;e edge of the flywheel. You should be able to see the sheathing without removing the flywheel, if not, remove it to be sure.
When are you heading this way? Weekend of 9/21 or 9/28?

We are headed down on Friday the 27th, and I will be picking her up on the 28th. It doesn't look like we will be doing any riding, is there anything else to do down in Virginia? None of us have ever been down there.

Plenty to do here, just depends on what you like. Amherst is a small town though and not much around there. Send me a PM and maybe I can give you some suggestions.
Jeff,
I've been to Kentucky, I wouldn't be crackin on VA if I was you
