Now that we are racing ours full time because the trany blew in the YZF, we found this thing to be as FAST as the YZF !!. We did have two problems yesterday at open practice. It would not idle. Called the dealer from the track. He said look for the simple things first. After an hour and a half we found some mud got under the throttle cable where it wraps around the thingie-ma-jig on the throttle body. Go figure?. The second problem was the Big Gun muffler. Last week the guts all blew out. Ran great but sounded really weird. Yesterday the end cap RIPPED right off. It tore the bolts off the end. Could not beleive it. Called R&S Performance, after talking to them, we are now getting a HMF complete system. A 3 HP gain on lower end and faster rev according to them. R&S said he can do some mild work and change one cam and make this thing run as strong as a YZF. We will see. I will now NOT recommend the Big Gun exhust. This is the third one I heard of not lasting very long with the same problem I had. The two c-dale dealers we deal with both said that is the problem with big gun and is why they dont stock them but do stock the HMF.
Would we buy another C-dale for MX racing ?? You bet we will. It may be a little more maintaince time (one hour longer) than our other quads BUT it stays together ALOT better than our EX, our Lonestar and our YZF ever did AND it did cost less !!

YOU HEARD IT HEAR FOLKS!!!
LOL, Dawsie, you might want to watch out now... if you say it holds up better than your EX, those Honda guys will jump all over you... everyone knows they are a bit irritable lately since they still haven't gotten a new quad from Honda. It's like a moody drunk thats trying to quit drinkin.
LOL, sorry, I couldn't resist doggin on the Honda guys one time.

<< You can always buy a raptor with a weak tranny, a overweight slow Bombardier 650, a briggs and stratton powered honda 400ex or a suzuki z400(kawi klf 400, articcat 400) slightly faster than a 400 ex with reverse, or a maintance plagued cannondale that is made in the USA. Tough decisions. >>
raptor, tranny problem fixed.
bomb, not too slow, and if you lose the weight problem, then who knows?
briggs and stratton makes half of your lawn equipment, and leases engines to the rest
kfx/ltz/cat trio is slower, but excellent machines.
cannondale, after paying that much damn money it should be ridden more than wrenched on.
notice that none of the other quads you mentioned had serious, vital, consistent, mechanical problems?
just something to think about

Let them jump !! All the Dist-34 riders know what we have been through in the last three seasons. The new guys are always coming to the expert riders for advise and parts. We have loaned out more EX parts to riders at the track than we ever borrowed. They always asked what did we have to do to fix it. We now point at the C-dale. :-)
