Modified air box

The Quad tech nose peice can be found on www.rsperformance.net in the upgrades section on the right of the screen (not the one on the top). From what it looks like, the scooped hood just bolt on over the stock plastics, but I'm pretty sure Greg bought one and said he would have to do a lot of cutting to the top "hooked nose" part of the plastic between the headlights. I've brought up this exact same question numerous times a long time ago and yet nobody has ever given any sort of normal answer about whether or not it would make a difference in power, except for Cdale1's recent post. I was thinkin about buying a Outerwears airbox cover and cutting peices out to fit behind the holes, and I probably will do that soon, but I'm kind of busy with some other things right now. When I do try it, I'll let you all know if it helps any.

check out www.nacsracing.com and they have some pics I think, in the race report section. Or www.exriders.com... go to the forums and looks for MX Cannondale pics in the Open forum section... I think you'll have to look through a few pages to find that one though.

I race 2 different Motos on MX circuit. We cut three 1 inch holes on the both sides of the air box "nose" so we could see how dirty the filter is without taking the front plastic off. Because the holes are on the sides the filter does not get anymore water or dirt then without the holes. Also talked to the guys who makes the computers and they said it dosn't hurt anything as the computer will adjust fuel/air mixture with in set parameter. Also we took off the spark arrester cap and screen and it makes louder sound so we could hear it better on the track.
