Adjusting the Hydraulic Clutch
#11
No that isnt right you will have to go through with adjustment.
Its to bad that all the dealers dont take the time to breakin the quads before they leave the dealership. If you cant get it back to the dealer you will have to do it.The clutch uses mineral oil you can use the stuff from a drugstore works fine lot cheaper.

Does the auto tranny fluid change the feel of the clutch?Better or worse?
ZR What. I feel for you but that hydro clutch is really a great feature I dont think I would ever own another quad without one dont give up on it.

I change mine over to it when I put the steel braided line on it, since mind didn't come with one. It feels easier to pull, but I don't know if it's becuase of the fliud or the steel braided line do to it looks bigger in diameter and less flex. I wouldn't change fliud unless it's needed to be done. Old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

Mine did the same thing, hard to find neutral, stall in corners and it would creep in gear with clutch pulled in. Very easy to adjust. Great tip on raising clutch side of bike up mxmike. The adjuster is almost set at three turns out on my cannibal and cured all problems runs awesome..

As for trans. fluid, they leave the factory with Maxima MTL.
Mine is also still very hard to hit neutral when it's running. I've probably got about 20 hours on it- I've only been able to do short rides on it since I brought it home. I also had to adjust once as soon as I got it because the dealer/factory didn't get it right. Mine has the cable clutch, so it's very easy to tell when it's set "right". The only complaint I have about the cable setup is that I like the short lever the hydro's have better!
With more experience, have you got any more opinions on the Blaze vs. your old Raptor?

NRATH: I really haven't ridden the Blaze anywhere except in a few fields. But I love the way it handles and its very smooth overall. I haven't really had a chance to really get into the RPM's for an extended period as I am still breaking it in. But it definitely has some great power and seems to rev more like a 2 stroke than a four. It seems to have much more managable power than the Raptor. From what I can tell so far, the Raptor would have easily taken the Blaze in a drag race. But it should with 254 more CC's. I just can't wait to get the blaze on the trails. Tomorrow I am planning to ride it in the woods, so I should have a better update then.
