ok well a little back ground on me back in 84 i got hit buy a train and lost both my feet .
was told that i would never walk again good doc's huh.
but i showed them .

not only did i walk again but had a uncle show me how to ride and played around when i could .
just for kicks . got away from dirt bikes and quads got into jetskies but was heading out to jetski
and a guy was pushing out a 250R . long story short it was mine . that was the start of it all .
at the time my little cuz was racing in the 80 class . i would go out every so often to watch .

the track had a quad class looked like a blast . went and talked to the track owner to see if i could race
being i was disable was unsure if they would let me. after a long talk told me to come out so they could see if it was safe for me to ride . it was my idea i would never put some one in danger .

they had no proub with me racing .

went out that friday night pulled up to the line man was i freaking out . but wow what a rush as (every one knows) i had no idea what to do was only on the track one time . gate droped and wow every one left me . but still raced my butt off got buy 2 riders i crossed the finsh line with tears in my eyes (walk hell i just beat 2 guys with feet racing moto-x)

so ever race i run ill never forget.

motorider7- That was an awesome story, thank you for sharing it. I have a friend that races the Nationals that only has one leg. You two people are the ones that have true courage. Race on my friend.

motorider7- Yea man his name is Jorge Cuartas aka One Legged Jorge. He ended up finishing 11th in Open B. He would have been in the top 10 but his leg came off in a few races. He is racing in the 12 hour race right now in Iowa. He is really cool and doesnt let anything get in his way.

Hahaha, I raced the second moto of Rnd 1 of the full moon series w/o a seat cause it flew off in the first corner of the second lap!

One of my more memorable races was when I won my first trophy. 8 people in that class, I two wheeled a corner really bad and by the time I recovered and got it back on the track, I was in 7th and I caught up to 3rd for the 1st moto. In the second moto, I got the holeshot, got passed close to the end of the 1st lap in a whoop section (I really need to practice those whoops). 3 corners later, the guy in 1st took the high side and I went low and we were side by side coming out of the corner. His Banshee was a little faster than my quad and he pulled a little ahead of me and then we hit a camel back. I only doubled it but I hit it faster than him and when I was goin through the air, I saw him already on the ground and driftin right under me. I landed on his right tires and two wheeled it off the side of the jump and my quad ended up cartwheelin down the side of the track. I had 2 bent wheels, very badly bent handle bars, bent nerf bar, broken brake line, and a broken nose. I had blood runnin all down my face but I got back up and finished the race. Obviously got last place in that one, I rolled everything cause I was afraid to mess anything up and everything looked kind of blury, but my combined finishes were enough to get me a 5th place over all, so I got my trophy.

That race did kind of **** me off though.

The Outlaw Amature race at Swan was pretty cool too since I beat everyone as bad as I did, except for Sandy.

Default Most Memorable Race

My most memorable race was in May of 2002.(My 2nd race ever.) It all started when we left the house early Fri. morning to go practice at HoleShotMotocross. I practiced all day trying to get all the jumps down. Next day was also a practice day. I only practiced about a third of this day because i kept frying reeds in the Blaster. Well later that afternoon my dad sees a guy riding around in one of them Kasea buggy things and my dad had wanted to see one so my dad and this guy start talking about it. They get to talking about quads and he told my dad to tell me to come down to where he was and test ride a cannibal and he said if i liked it I could race. I didn't believe him. I didn't get to ride it until the next day which was the day of the race. Get this. I was going to turn down the opportunity to race this thing. I guess i was intimidated by it because it was so much bigger and faster than my blaster. Well when the 6 quads were lined up at the gate ready to race you wouldn't believe how much i was shaking. There i was waiting for the gate to drop, but i didn't wait. I took off before the gate dropped and went back onto the grabbar. I guess i got too anxious. Ended up coming in 4th. The second moto got rained out. Well let me just say this. If it wasn't for Kip Allen, i would probably still be on the blaster and only racing once a month. Thanks Kip for everything you have done for me.
Later,
Josh

I don't really recall anything special from any race that stands out in my mind right now.

I tend to have pretty clean and straightforward races without any problems....... Well......except when I end up in the same class as airtimehocutt's friend named Steve......LOL

I have only raced the guy twice in my life. Once in 1997 and once earlier this year. I had tangles with him at both events. I sure hope they split the classes up come arena cross time in two weeks.....LOL

The races I remember best were in 1971--1972 time period on my Honda SL100 at the local place we called sandhill.

It was right outside the city limits back then and I would practice there after school through the week and then on the weekends either beat or stay right with the big guns on the track.

I had a much lower power to weight ratio back then.
