Default Chain lube

What do ya all used for chain lube in the sand. The stuff that was on originaly got all caked with sand and was almost imposible to clean. I think that greasy mess mixed with sand is like a rubing compound just grinding away at stuff. I got some of the new Belray superclean chain lube and it did the same thing. I Refuse to clean all that crap off again i will run it dry first. What is a good clean lube for the dunes??? Will somthing like WD40 be enough.

I been useing Maxama chain lube.I also try and clean it after every riding day.I also find if you put the maxama the day before it dries up and turnes into wax and works good for repeling dirt.If you dont let it dry that stuff will fling all aver you gas tank, subframe and fenders and thats a b!tch to get off.

I too use the Maxama stuff. Mine is the Crystal Clear kind not the wax. I agree with mxmike on letting set overnight before riding. I think it's one of the best if not the best stuff to use on o-ring chains.

Does the Crystal Clear kind leave a grease on the chain ?? or is it more oily like WD40 ??

It's somewhere in the middle. It's thicker than WD40 and greesy so it won't fling off, but it does collect dust or mud on the chain. It's a little foamy at first, but soaks into the chain and makes the chain look wet. I'm very pleased with it. I've used it for the past 2 or 3 seasons and I just replace the chain a sprocket at the end of each season.

You lube a chain after you get through riding.

The cahin being warm and having time to "soak" in before the next ride will nearly eliminate all the "flinging".

We use the same stuff you are using.....BelRay SuperClean.

This is the best stuff on the market in my opinion and is the ONLY lube that contains sperm oil. [Weird, but very true!!]
