Gonzales my track, huh. I wish mark and them was around this time last year, then they would know who's track it realy is, lol.

No practice this sunday at avondale, closed for construction. They will practice on saterday thow.

I'll be at avondale with my boy next week. Not sure I can race it thow. I put my quad on methanol and now trying to tune a bigger carb on gas for it. Can't practice any way. Grandma needs a roof put on and the only day I have to take off will be that sunday to go to the races. I may be ready or can tune it there, not sure. We will see, would love to run with yall.

Just bought a LT250R as well so I have been busy. Maybe I can keep up with this one, we will see.

Oh, and thats shim over bucket mike. Take the frikin valve cover off, put it at Top Dead Center, slip the feeler gauges between the cam and shim and if it's in toulerence (wich it most likely is) tell the idiot to shove it up his **** and fix the real problem.

you have to pull the motor on a cannondale to adjust the valves.

I wasn't aware of that. Infact that kinda sucks. But in my probably 12 years of doing shim over bucket valve adjustments it was very rare that one was out of toulerence. Infact freakwent compression test will tell you when the valve adjustment needs done.

In a computerised fuel injection system I would think he could figure out a cold start with a lap top instead of pulling a motor. If pulling motors to do routine maintenance is what C-dale had in mind with thier machines, well that would be **** pore engineering in this century. My point here is, sounds like some ones getting fed a bunch of crap in my mind.

as far as mike being fed a load of csap, i dont think so. he hasnt really taken the quad anywhere yet to get it checked out. the guys here were just trying to help mike out with some probable causes. i too told mike to check te compression. i still dont have a lot of experiance with the dales but my experiance with other quads expecially 2 strokes tells me it could be a low compression problem which could be valves. and yes the dales arent perfect, i too think dropping the motor to adjust the valves is a little much but a little extra trouble is worth it considering the caliber of quad the dales are.

I'm not trying to be harsh with the dales, just think thats a pretty balzy statement "oh hard starting, pull the motor and check the valves"

Simple, check compression, if low, put about a 1/2 oz of atf oil in the spark plug hole. Compression builds it's the rings, if not, it's the valves.

I'm just stating with logic systems on board it seems you could check the richness of the fuel mixture to see if you have a lean problem at start up, or check exhaust tempitures for burning efficentcy.

Like I said not bashing dales, but hay, dropping a motor is no piece of cake.

Gaff I was just picking on ya with the Gonzalis thing.LT250r cool.

Im still dont under stand what the valves have to do with cold starts. It starts fine after the 1st start and will run all day but the next day I try and start it even after making shure the battery is full charged It fouls a plug.

Well my point here mike, I don't get it either. Shim over bucket is a huge reliable way of doing it. Say like threaded adjusters you have on your EX. Now those damn things get so far out of wack and in most cases poeple don't even notice untill they hier the loud ticking of the valves, and then they ask, Whats that noise. But out of say a million problems I've had on repairing or rebuilding quads and bikes NEVER have I had a valve that needed adjusted because the machine was hell on cold starts. Go figure.

Now if you plug a lap top into that thing and throw it threw some diagnostics, now here we go, bet they could figure it out pretty quick.
I have run into this problem on Husquavana bikes. In all cases it was the carberation that was screwed up. Well you don't have a carberater. But you have some type of fly wheel senser, a oxygen senser, and many other things that either require a toulerense or callibration.

When your truck doesn't start well in the morning, does the chevy guy ever tell you to adjust your valves, lmao. Dealing with the Kenner shop still?

I know about your private joke and the Gonzales track, lol. Hope you guys have a graet time, tell every one I said hello. At work now, just got here today. Getting back out of shape AGAIn, 5th time this year. Every ones got thier Hurricane insurence checks in and I guess my wife has made me the district handy man. Trying to get out and about but just way to bizzy fixxing every ones crap. Just wish I got paid for it thow. Huh, after all these years they still think buying me a 6 pack at the end of the day does the trick. It's the frickin year 2002 man, atleast buss up with a 12 pack

I have no time to even mess with the quads. I brought my son to practice last saterday for 5 hours. Only wheeled the lakota out tuesday to switch the carbs, never had time to even tune it.

I got a cool deal on the LT, just need to ship it here. It's at my brothers in Ohio, should ship this week thow.

I got it to ease my brain on what quad and how much, or just give it up all together. I'm going to run the LT for a while see how I like it and see if running a comparable machine agaist most of the guys will jar me into that new one. I just don't know thats why I bought the LT. I even contenplated calling you to work out a deal on the EX. But for the LARGE amount of cash I'm looking to spend this LT should make my mind up.

I need to look at Avondales schedule, that race next week is that the 2 day one. Kinda hoping not but do you know?

well I'll be there, got these darn roofs to put on. If I don't get them on surely I won't be able to race. But if I give it hell I'll see what I can do.
