Default Good & Bad news on the GasGas

I just got off the phone with GT Thunder on whats going on with my quad. The good news is it looks like I'll be picking it up tomorrow with my new a-arms ready to go. He also mentioned that He called and talked to GasGas USA and found out that Jeremy Rice (#10 GNCC rider next year) will be on a GasGas quad.

So now the reason why he called GasGas in the first place. Well I orginally complained to him about the rear shock location (almost imposible to adjust the setting) and it not having alot of travel. I also complained about the open airbox (no lid). Well it turns out that there is a problem with the rear shock and airbox loaction. When the rear shock compresses it hits the bottom of the airbox before it bottoms out so this is why he called GasGas and Ohlins to see if they were aware of the problem and if it had been solve. I didn't get into all the details of what was said so I'll find out tomorrow when I go to pick up the quad. I'll going to race it as is next weekend and then send it back to GT Thunder to have the problem fix. He siad is has order the parts from Ohlins that is need to fix it and just needs to have the quad to get the specs to fab a part or two to fix the problem. I'm sure he is going to be working with GasGas and Ohlins to solve this problem.

From what the mags say its a hell of a quad. it looks kind of cool too. I like the fact that you dont have to do much to go racing with it.

I've got the thing broke in already and just sent it up to GT to get the thing narrowed up. As for GasGas helping out riders, their aren't doing anything this year but are talking like they my have something in the works for the 04 season. We'll have to wait and see.
