Default Should the dealer have fixed this?

I bought my quad about 12-10-02 from a dealer around the San Diego area. The recalls had been out for a couple of months. I had to return it to get the shocks replaced. I now find it will need the the stud upgrade. It seems like alot of b/s . I think a good dealer should have fixed these problems before it was sold! I'll add I had to find the shock recall myself. If I would have know about the stud recall, I would have had it done. Well I'll never buy a bike from _ _ _ _ again. The dealers could have prevented alot of thier own problems with the Cannondale's.

I totally agree with you. Some dealers should shelve some of the responsibility with some of the cannondales. Do not get me wrong, Dealers are the middle men and we rely on there input and expertice. We need dealers. Maybe they were not trained right, or maybe just blew it off. I do not know. I personally have not needed a dealer for my cannibal. I do infact need the frame reinforcement kit though. My dealer ordered it but will not get it. I am scared to get any engine work done at my dealer. I will probably take it to the performance shops people talk about all the time.

I bought my Speed a year ago, it's been trouble free for the most part and I have never taken it back to the dealer. I sent them an email today about a Cannibal I saw they where selling cheap and this is the response I got.

To the best of my understanding, Cannondale is only doing the engine stud upgrade on units that have exhibited problems, and our unit has never been serviced and run.

My understanding is by the time it's exhibiting problems your probably looking at a new engine. This is a prime example of why I haven't been back to them.
