This isn't the first "Low production" quad I've owned. My Kaw Tecate4 ran for only two years. (87 & 88). I bought it used 5 years after they stopped making it. Is it dead? No. Are parts hard to get? Yes. What do people do when they see one? They approach in awe and ask what it is. Or they come up and say "I remember these, God are they bad!" I am not giving up on a Canndale buyer. But if it all falls through, I'm going to shine it up and put it away. Every now and then I'll bring it out to thrash and impress. I will keep it forever. I know a lot of people can't afford to do this but for those who can, think of it like the old muscle cars. How many of you had a car in high school that just kicked a$$ but you got rid of it for one reason or another. Then you see one at a car show and think what if I had kept mine? We maybe in buisness again sooner than any of use realize or you could be holding on to a piece of ATV history. Either way, we own something priceless.

Right on! I'll always have an Cannondale. People still check it out when I go riding/racing. It's a heck of a machine.

I REALLY wish I could afford to keep mine. If I can't get any money for mine right now as a whole, maybe I should try to part it out?

You could, but I've been locating alota parts. The only thing I can't find an abundance of is engine cases, heads, and frames. Everything else I've found. I don't know if it'd be a good idea or not. It's up to you. A complete head with cams goes for around $800. A crank, about $200, engine cases you could get a pretty penny for, and a main frame.... $1600! , sub-frame, 120. So over time you could, but you want to sell that thing ASAP to get a bike, right?

if you check www.cannondaleriders.com in the next couple of weeks, you'll get a good list. We've got it started already, everyone is working on it. I know a couple of other dealers and a guy that has 500k work of parts in a warehouse he's going to be auctioning off in the future.

ATV history, hmm. Good speech tecate. This is my 500th post, mostly on the cannondale forum. I've been pretty serious. I'm expecting to keep my 'dale for as long as i can keep her going, but i'm not 'investing' in any more parts than are required. Got a nice pile already thanks. I use my BIKE stock certificates to keep the dust off em. LOL.

Ouch. Good luck to all of the die hards. If nothing pans outs for the motor sports div, it's going to be Mad Max for us. We'll scrounge what we can to keep the dream alive. Nothing new for me i.e. Tecate.

Im in. I had to seriously detatch myself from the companies issues. If I think about breaking it when I ride, I wont ride hard, and then I wont enjoy it. Right now Im riding like a mad man, If it breaks, it breaks, I'll deal with it then.

KTM 520 sound slike a pretty cool option, saw that idea posted on another site.
