ATV legality in illinois

I have read the law about ATV riding in Illinois and it states that you are able to ride on the road as long as its not a highway, tollway, etc. However it does not state how to make the ATV strret legal. Where am I able to find this information? And is it legal?

Interesting to hear where ya read that! ATVS cannot be liscensed in Illinois and therefore are not allowed on any public road from what I have read.... Enlighten me if you find different.

just found this topic in a search...i have tried contacting MANY people about it, and the answer is always no....

i wish illinois didnt have such horrible laws (you would think for a state with NOTHING here they wouldnt be so strict...lol)

i have DREAMS about riding my quad every day.... i would probably have it down in a week if it became possible.... (especially with the current 2.00 gas prices!)

if anyone has more info pleast post
