As a footnote, Resource Advisory Committees were created by law in 2000 to allow for more active participation in land management decisions. The committee’s duties include reviewing proposed forest management projects in accordance with the Act and make recommendations to the Forest Service and/or Bureau of Land Management, coordinating with land management agency officials, and providing opportunities for interested parties to participate in the project development process.
