Heres the full story on this mess.

http://www.biologicaldiversity.org/s...algodones.html

Although I like the enthusiasm of the petition no matter it's size or content is going to stop this onslaught. For the weight and cost of this lawsuit to the BLM, it is easier and less expensive to just settle out of court with the plaintiffs.

The only way I can see a fighting chance for equal access to the dunes is to get all the business’s that are supported by the dunes to form and donate $2000 a piece to an agreed upon law firm. And then launch a massive counter suit against the BLM sighting use management discrimination! Only with equal court pressure will the BLM be forced to a compromise instead of a complete folding on the issue.

These green groups are well funded and a formidable adversary.

I resite a good articial from Mike Lion

An extra special thanks goes to Nick Ervin, representing the Environmentalists. We thank you for leaving the meeting during the first hour. With the lack of your vote, the off roaders were able to have the short, mid-holiday public comment and review periods extended. It’ s a small milestone, but we will succeed against your "Green Attacks"!

--------------------------------------------
Nick Ervin left the meeting early and probably laughed his way to his car because he like all lawyers know that the only real legal binding power at that meeting rests in the documents sitting on the table of Mike Pool "Director of the California BLM" i.e.- lawsuit!

You can bring all the crowds you want sign a million petitions hold up your signs and chant all you want.

The only real "legal binding" power will rest in a court counter suit.

#517 here. This potential closing and other places around the country is complete bs. The greens think they own the country, and lots of other absent minded polititions agree. Although I am not of voting age, I urge all of those who are to vote accordingly. Al Gore wants to secretly abolish "any sort" of fun activity that we americans (canadians too I guess) have as our god given right as stated in our constitution. Our government is slowly converting over to a communist system, but nobody seems to be noticing. There are more senseless laws, etc. today than ever. Who instated most of these? BILL CLINTON AND MR. GORE!?!?!? Exactly. As others have said, Gore will outlaw any internal combustion engine out there (most likely atv's, snowmobiles, boats) first, but while we doing nothing about the 3mpg cars which in the first place, pollute so much more than our sport. I do agree that some action on the environment needs to be taken, but just closing everthing and ridding us of our outdoor freedoms, IS NOT THE ANSWER! If there was a flat tire on your 2000 Dodge Viper, you're NOT going to scrap the car are you? I didnt think so, all you have to do is take it to the shop and get a new one or have it repaired. Thats what we need to encourage - RESPONSIBLE USE, NOT IRRESPONSIBLE STEALNG OF WHAT BELONGS TO US!

That's my 2 cents!
