No it's The Peoples Republic Of Illinois. The only way that state could be salvaged from the jaws of fascist insanity is to turn Chicago and some of the more urban areas into their own states. Unfortunately the hinterlands are always going to be under the thumb of Chicago and the more urban areas.

Yes, there is a county not far from Peoria where ATV's were to be banned altogether. You can own one but it cannot be operated within the county limits on any property. I don't know if this passed or got shut down, but was big news in the paper last year. Whoever told you this is a free country LIED TO YOU. As far as being able to educate dumb...lol...not in our state, our governor keeps cutting funding for schools. I see your point and totally agree on the street legal issue. It's not a matter of what's safe or unsafe. NOTHING IS SAFE!!! As far as I am concerned it should be under the same attitude as Illinois helmet laws, "I ride, let me decide." It is a matter of personal choice and responsibility to decide what machine you're going to ride and where and how you're going to ride it.

I find that just..stunning. Depressing really. I can't imagine an armed agent of the state traipsing, check that, - trespassing - onto my farm telling me that I can't operate machinery on my own property. Sweet merciful crap. Try that in these parts and you'd end up on a missing person poster.
Well, it's becoming a familiar refrain especially for Illinois but... "as if you needed yet another reason to pack up and leave the state of Illinois".

I believe you will find eventually someone is going to challenge that law in court and find it unconstitutional. Have you tried going to city hall yet?

That'd be cool to drive around on atvs and such. I don't see the harm in it. I think it'd be much more fun than driving in a car with people you don't want in the car. It's funny that I'd rather drive something I've put together that I carries one person instead of a car which anyone's old enough to drive lol
