Flowers Bill Would Prohibit Youth Riding.
Illinois House bill 3914, introduced by Rep. Mary Flowers (D-Chicago), would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 16 to operate an all-terrain vehicle or off-highway motorcycle. The proposed legislation would also make it illegal to transport a passenger on an ATV or OHM regardless of whether the vehicle is configured for a passenger. The bill would also require ATV and OHM riders to have valid driver's licenses and wear helmets.
This legislation was referred to the rules committee on February 26th.

What bullshit! So much for our Constitution i guess?</end quote></div>
No kidding...... this has to stop. Everyone in Illinois needs to contact their local reps and tell them they won't stand for it......
Imagine how much money the state is going to lose in ATV sales and related items. Not to mention that if kids cannot ride, they won't grow up to be adults who ride.
This is a pathetic attempt to steal more freedoms from Americans....

Good deal..... I don't even live in Illinois and I'm going to write them. I'm going to use the economic angle and how they will be taking millions of dollars away from local dealers in machines, and clothes and safety gear..... and the long term repercussions because some families will just abandon ATV riding altogether if their kids cannot be involved....
I'm hoping that it does not have enough gas to get through but you never know...
