The New York State DEC has made a draft proposal that among other things would not allow for atv use on public lands. The DEC is in the final three months of putting together a detailed and extensive regulation and policy statement for Region 7, which includes much of central New York, encompassing Broome, Tioga, Chenango, Tompkins, Cortland, Oswego, Cayuga, Onondaga and Madison counties. The proposed Region 7 Recreation Master Plan is available on the Internet at www.dec.state.ny.us/website/dlf/ publands/ump/index.html. It is time for all of us to speak up and be heard. Write the DEC a letter.
