Meant just to get the Presidents attention, but what if ??? Maybe we should have remained a Republic! Over 20 states involved in this petition! This is the main article and the states involved. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/...190210006.html If they receive 25,000 petitions in a month it warrants the President's official response! Texas has that amount in two days time!

Unfortunetly, I live in Massachusetts where they actually like the liberal government controlling your life garbage. Maybe I should move to a state where they want to secede.

You're welcome to move to the great Republic of Texas! I like the sound of that! To think as a republic we originally had the right to divide Texas into four individual states also if we had wanted to! That would have really screwed up Washington's dealings with us. OPT

Texas would turn out to be an oil, cotton, cattle, agriculture power house! heck, we could charge exorbitant fees for the US to lease land for NASA and other US govt entities. . i'm for it, i'm tired of the liberals cramming things down our throats and the uneducated/uninformed public at large voting for such idiocy. gimme a break.........i'm gonna be comparing my current pay stubs to what they're gonna look like after January 1. they'll be a big difference. BIG difference.

The liberals have done a bang up job of getting people on the welfare rolls (I don't believe 47% of the population is not able to work physically or mentally) guaranteeing them a large portion of voting age people. Have to admit they've succeeded.

I'd go down to Texas if it wasn't so hot... I don't even like it when it hits 80 up here in New England.

All but 8% of the American population of working age, work. 47% don't pay Federal income tax, almost all of them pay State Income tax, Sales tax, and property tax.

And Jeez, talk about patriotic.

That's a lot of people who aren't of working age on the government teat. Seems like the current administration would be looking into that.

The elderly are becoming the largest block of the population, the vast majority of which are on Social Security (government's teat), which they paid into their whole lives, and deserve. The rest the 47% are people who work, but might also receive government aid for health insurance, or other programs. They work, they just don't make enough to live. Yeah, the current administration should look into it, they should mandate livable wages. Then everyone is off the government's dime, and everyone is making a fair wage.

So everyone makes the same wage, but not everyone would do the same work?
