Default Law Suit

what's the deal with this?:

ATV Connection
Violating Copyright Laws
ATV Connection, a cheap web site is now facing another lawsuit for copyright infringement and the illegal use of Tamarack Publications' exclusively owned content on the ATV Connection server. This "so-called" publication has stolen our material and is using it to help generate advertising. Apparently their own mateial is not good enough. So they feel the need to steal from others. This discipable publication has had free use of our copyrighted material for over two years. Besides the illegal publication of our work, Mr (_______) apparently feels its within legal boundaries to change the bylines to "Staff Report" while still using Copyrighted photography. This self-proclaimed "Publisher" is a joke and finds it easier to use other people's work. He has continually broken every legal document he signed. Tamarack Publications will be seeking in excess of $20,000 for the unauthorized use of its articlesand the money generated from our articles for over two years. Legal counsel for Tamarack Publicartions, will notify all the OEMs and relevant after-market companies of their copyright practices and the impending lawsuit. All OEM's and relevant companies will be notified of the impending lawsuit.

They complain about legal boundaries. How can they add someone's name with out consent and it still be legal. This could lead into harassment of certain individuals. I'd say these people who are making these claims are the ones who should be worried of a lawsuit.

KEEP THE CONNECTION GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LEP,

The are no lawsuits happening nor was any material stolen by us. And yes, we could certainly file suit for defamation and a number of other reasons. But I prefer to take the high road and conduct business with professionalism.

The person who wrote that on that site was my best friend. I know him better than anyone. He is not....himself today. Its a very sad thing to see happen to someone.

Give him a few hours and when his head clears he'll realize what he did and remove that info from the site.

All we can do now is pray for him.

as long as you understand the situation dbeck, it's good to hear that you know the background of the story. It kind of ticked me off when I read the story that someone would have the audacity to post something like that on their front page.

What would their regular readers think?

Thanks, Lep.

Yes, it is upsetting when something like that happens. All we can do is try to be professional in every thing we do and trust that our reputation will speak for itself.

I see now that he has removed it. He must be coming around finally.

I'm going to lock this thread now. Lets put this behinds us and move on....

Thanks for your understanding and support. It gave me a lot of comfort knowing that you could tell from what you read that something wasn't right. Hopefully everyone realized that.

Thanks again.

Dave
