Ther's plenty of room in the back of any pickup you just have to figure out how to get it in and out. We put a yamaha timberwolf with 12.5 in wide tires on it and two dirt bikes in the back of an 83 4x4 s10. Sure it was tight but we didnt even have to tie anything down. the tailgate had to stay down,

I have a 1980 Toyota long bed truck that i haul my Suzuki King Quad in.The tires rub the fender wells a bit,but it fits and i can close the tail gate.I also haul the Wifes Honda 200 Four trax at the same time on a 4x8 trailer.Ive got over 200,000 on this poor ole hoopty truck and the 20R motor dont go up hills to fast but i get there. You should see it when ive got both bikes and the camping gear.It is a sight but i have a good time.Been looking at the 2000 Chevy ext cab 4 door,I think it would do just fine.

Another thing, do most of you not strap in your quad with tie downs? Man, I drive my truck the same as my quad and If i didnt have mine straped in when I did a E-brake u turn on dry pavement i would have lost it for sure..

Greetings,

I think I would tie it all down anyway. It may stay put while cruising down the road, but if all hell breaks loose, you don't want a lot of loose machinery flying around to add to the excitement.

I have a 92 ex-cab Sonoma. My warrior just fits between the wheelwells and there is a couple of inches to spare with the tailgate up. I do strap it down at all 4 corners just in case. Usually, when I don't ride around home, my son goes with me along with his KX250. Then I use a 6X10 trailer. That way we have the whole bed of the truck for extras. I have had 2 bikes and 2 quads along with a weekend worth of gear with me. The trailer has brakes which really help with stopping heavy loads.

I strap my quad down. I have no tailgate, so the strap and parking brake are the only things that hold her in.

My Rancher barely fits in the back of my F-150 with the tail gate closed. The fit is so tight that no tie downs are needed.

Went riding with a guy that had his 300ex stuffed into the back of a caravan. As with tie-downs, always. You never know when some idiot will pull out in front of you or when an accident will occur.I Don't want a 700 pound quad coming through the back window at me.

My Wolverine will fit in the bed of my 96 ranger with 6' bed. The gate just manages to stay closed(the tires compact a little bit). I have seen a F150 with 3 quads in the bed(side ways with the last one 1/4 off the gate). I also saw a quad on top of car. The guy stuck ramps in the trunck and just drove right up. I guess his rear winshield cracked once so I think he stopped doin it.
