Default Can we 'classify' riders and which types hurt our sport?

(From Kraw above):

"I take the same chance of that happening every day when I drive a vehicle on the hiway.
I'm not really seeing your point".

My point is, that this sport is effectively STALLED from further progress.
That is, until the basic tenants of safety are, if not agreed upon.........legislated and enforced to the point where any "save the people from themselves" rules which are enacted(?).......are definitely not 'worth' breaking.

I don't know how it can be put any simpler and you certainly are entitled to your opinion (I think ).

your right, just my opinion. Just trying to get a good conversation going

why do we need to legislate and enforce safety? It should be up to the individual to protect theirself. And I really don't see how the sport is STALLED, seems that there are new classes for racers, new races, new tracks, even new RACE bikes, popping up every year. Haven't the sales of ATV's EXPLODED over the last few years?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for safety, but I don't think it should be forced upon people. I think it should be presented to people and we should make our own decission that it is the right thing to do (helmets and training etc)

I started wearing a helmet again last week, I will always wear one on my Raptor, unless I am just around the house. I won't wear one on my Grizzly though, unless I go somewhere where I have to

As a 16 year old kid, and thats what i am, i am still just a kid. I would never ride my bike with out a helmet, gloves and a chest protector. My dad was a good rider so i have a good teacher, and my parents would never let me go riding with out supervision.
