I was reading a post about lawn tractors and it got me to thinking. Back in the day(10-15yrs ago) in the summer when Mom and Dad where gone to work and before I had an atv the snapper was my atv. I rode that thing all through the woods and kicked the blade on and shot some leaves. Sure was slow but it was fun. Amazing how I hated riding that same mower on Saturdays when I had to cut grass. I couldn't be the only one.Later

 

your lucky..i had one of those stupid old push mowers where the blades only spinned when you pushed it...

 

Hahah, that's great. I can remember my first quest for speed was as my brothers put me on the vauumm cleaner, you know, the one that had a seperate hose...not the upright kind...they would build walls of boxes and guess who got to fly on that machine through the wall!! I used to have a lawnmower that did wheelies lol

 

Not only did we race our mowers...we built a track for it. Its was in the neighbors side yard, we set up a nice sized oval with a figure 8!! I had a 16hp Simplicity and my rival (best friend) had a 14 hp Snapper.
The fun really begain after we got 2 of the old style snappers( you know the ones with the motor on the back and handlebars to steer with) and took the decks off. It turned into lawn mower demo derby. It's amazing we didn't kill ourselves. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

lol, Me and my friend used to take his 6hp go kart in the snow and that was fun until it broke down. Then on my other friends go kart my idiot friend put oil in the carburator. It still doesn't work well as far as i know (100th post weee)

 

that brings back memories! my dad would take the mower deck off in the winter. a little more clearance, and a little less weight. funny, i never rolled it while was cutting the grass[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img], didn't think a lawn boy would do something like that!

 

I have one now, 17hp scotts.
It'll also burn rubber if you put the front end against a wall[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

We have 2 cubs that we pull.Both are 12hp and bored .30 over and have few other mods.Nasty habit is my bros and the Thunder Cub is mine.There Probilty the badest 12hp mowers you all have ever seen.Both could do some huge wheelies if I took off the wheelie bars.They would out pull any of your all's lawn mowers.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

 

Ya i just didi that like 2 year ago with my dad's tractor when he first got it.LOL O well we don't even use a trator for work around the house just cuting the grass.My dad use's the kodiak to haul stuff like rock and dirt.
