I'd say forget about anything above a 125 for your age and size......I get scared just sitting on a 250 on the showroom floor and I'm 6' and 200lbs

Like I said in the other thread you started about this......

no. my godfather has had is KX for a long time and done some desert racing but mostly rec riding on it and has smoked a lot of pistons and the bike is stock. 125 or 250 for jumping and doing tricks. as much as you think you are capable i can garauntee you are not, see you in the hospital! definitly i see people that are 6'4'' and say they get scared and they've been riding a long time. save yourself some time from going to the hospital and just buy a 125 and put a ton of aftermarket parts on it on get a 250 and keep it stock.

The only reason I looked at this bike is because I wanted a two stroke,so u can count out the YZ450, or the CR450F. Plus I am afraid that a YZ250, or a CR250 wont have enough Power for me, do u think i would get bored on it if I kept it stock?Oh yea, one more question i want something that can absolutely smoke an XR650L in a drag, do u think a YZ or CR can do it? And one more question Which one of the 250's should i get, CR, or, YZ, and if the YZ do u think that I will be able to touch the ground on it becuase it is 2 in. taller than the CR.

Talk to u later,
BOO YAH!!!

A friend of mine had a KX500 that he used to ride the badlands and some local trails with and he got rid of it after only riding it one season. He also thought that the 250 wouldnt have enough power, but soon found out that the 500 may have more power but you have to ride fairly fast just to keep enough air flow through the radiator to keep it cool. He ended up riding his KX250 and leaving the 500 home because the 500 kept overheating when riddin slowly on trails then whompped on to go up hills and jump with. So you could get the 500 and still jump and do tricks, but a 250 would be alot better choice, and the 250 would be alot easier to throw around in the air than the heavier 500. Just go try the 250's out and I bet you will be surprised at how much power they can have, and if they dont have enough power you can always big bore it and add tons of aftermarket stuff.

you're affraid a 250 wont have enough power? they make around 50hp and weigh 220 dry. you, sir, are going to get hurt. you get a guy 220lbs himself that can actually ride like a man and NO stock quad will even think about touching him - he will walk away.

PS you zilla and Gas gas owners shut up. ;-)
