What a terrible tragedy. Also one that could have been avoided so easily.

Very sad story....unfortunately the writer failed to take the time to address the apparent real problem, careless parents and careless, possibly drunk, driving.
It's this kind of misleading (or not mentioned) information that makes ATV's look more unsafe than they are.....it's ironic that the lady made the statement "People are riding ATVs everywhere and people look at them as a toy," she said. "They are not toys. Period." Yet there's little mentioned about the driver who apparently thought of her vehicle as a toy!!!!!

Where were the parents!I can't beleive that a parent would let their child drive an ATV on their own with 5 other kids. Where's the common sense. It's STUPID people like these parents that ruin it for everyone else and that is the least of our worries. I beleive 5 children died. 5 children died and it could have been avoided. I read the driver was 14 years old and the accident happend at 9pm. If this is true what the hell is a 14 year old minor doing driving an ATV with other children, to fiinish it off on the road. Why were those kids out at 9pm by themselves. Man this gets me so mad. Now, of course all of us who off road are irresponsible people with no common sense. Because you know this is the way the media will make us out to be. Please everyone take care of your own and my heart goes out to those children and their families.

Another tragedy made to look even worse by irresponsible riding. 6 people on a quad. What were they thinking? Where are the parents in all of this. Did they know the kids were riding 6 up. Terrible, just terrible. My heart goes out to all families involved. Unforunately, incidents like this hurt every one of us. More ammo for the anti-atv groupies, as if they didn't have enough.
