Default catch and release (off topic)

My wife is an excellent mouser. We have two housecats that can't catch anything that isn't in a dish. We had a mouse running around in the hallway all day today and neither cat or even my sissy dog would catch it. So my wife just caught it with a broom and pinned it down, and we swept it into an empty Cheez-it box. I released it into the wild out back. I hope it doesn't get eaten by the coyote that was out there an hour ago when I got home.
thank you for letting me share this with you.

is this a guilty conscoius(or however you spell it) or what?

We just usuaslly use a mouse trap with peanut butter.
Then I make Bubba get rid of it.

The mouse will be back, food food food......

yeah, thats what my mother said too. I didn't bring it very far away. I was hoping that his run-in with my wife was enough to scare him away for good. If he comes back I'll have to turn my mother-in-law loose on him. That ought to do it.

Sorry, I thought this was a topic on the judicial system.

We have three cats. One of them is too old to care. The other two eat mice, except for the ones they leave on the porch as a gift for us. Some cats do and some don't, eat mice. We have had several cats and probably only 20% will catch and eat mice. I do feel sorry for the birds around here too, our two cats are merciless hunters. They hunt for both the sport and food.

man, my 13 yr old ex-farm/forest cat is a killing machine. she leaves the little heads on the welcome mat.
no mice in my house!
we have 2 other 'house' cats that are spoiled rotten but i think the young one shows a taste for the hunt.
