I now this topic has been a pretty hot one around here. But there has not been any real hard evidence or facts to support it. I ride a stock 95 300ex. I currently run Honda hp-4 oil ($4.00 a quart). I would like to run a Full Synthetic. Are there any Full Synthetic Motorcycle oils out there ?? Or do I have to chose from a regular motor oil ?? If so, which one ??? I am concerned about all the rumors around that I can not use this (motor oil) because of clutch slippage, and break down elements, and other additives... I would like some sort of facts to support this.
Let me now what you guys are using and what you reccomend to use !!! I need a oil change very soon, and looking on what to get !!!
Thanks
Jason

Mobil-1 Makes a motorcycle specific oil. It's hard to find. Check with a large auto parts, they might be able to get it for you. It will cost as much or even more than $4 a quart.

I use Mobil 1 15w50 normal synthetic in my 400EX, you can get it at Walmart for about $4/quart....

It will NOT, I repeat NOT make your clutch slip, engine leak, cam go flat, or any of the other unsubstantiated rumors that some will tell you. Notice that the only people stating these rumors are the ones that haven't tried it. They are going on speculation and assumptions alone.

Think about it... If it did, there would be all sorts of bold print warnings in your owner's manual and on the oil bottle itself. Manufacturers don't like lawsuits, and that's what they would get if it really did cause these problems in motorcycles or any other engines for that matter.

Need I go into this again? Synthetic oils are not more "slippery" than regular oils, they have other properties that make them more desirable to run.

Facts? I have been running synthetics in my various engines for years, yes, even my ATV engines with wet clutches. No problems, ever.

I use Amsoil Series 2000 75w-90 (Full Synthetic) in my 2 stroke bottom end. No slippage. I use Amsoil Series 2000 50:1 2 cycle premix. Best I have ever ran. Amsoil Series 2000 20w-50 in my CBR600F2, it rocks.

I use Amsoil synthetics in everything I own, so does my family. We havent seen any problems, only PERFORMANCE GAINS.

Amsoil Synthetics "For those who know".
