Default GPS how to

I mounted my Magellan Meridian Gold GPS on my Z400 with a handlebar mount. I know the GPS is weather protected, but am I going to have a problem with it in the mud?? I don't really want to ruin a $400 GPS!! I tried to put it in a zip-loc bag and mount it, but it won't lock in tight. Has anyone had problems with their GPS on the trails, and does anyone have any ideas to keep the mud from ruining it?

Pard,
No disrespect intended, I'm not trying to **** you off, but if you're worried about water 'n' mud messing up your GPS, you've got either the wrong GPS unit or you're purposely doing stuff that shouldn't be done while your GPS is mounted.

FWIW, for the last year, I have had a Garmin E-Trex Vista (an expensive unit) mounted on the handle bars of my Rancher and I have had ZERO problems with it.

Ok, the GPS looks pretty weather proof and rugged (ie. rubber seal in battery compartment, and no apparent ways for water to enter the unit). I was just wondering if anyone had any problems with theirs.
