I have been to the ATV festival in Wallace and if you are staying at the best western or one of the othe large motels there in town they have a security guard that stays in the parking lot all night. I went out to check on my machines about 3 in the morning, I didn't see the guard but he saw me and was definately on the alert. He made me prove that the ATV I was messing with was mine. I had the key on me, they keep a sharp eye out because bad publicity costs them money...

Minehunter,

The security at the ATV festival has me resting a little easier! Most of the club is camping.

Did you get to ride the ATV on the roads of Wallace? How did the locals treat the ATVers?

However, I am going to look into a sturdy chain, the bulldozer type. Lets just say to keep people "Honest"!

Looking through one of my catalogs I came across some street bike alarms. Most are really pricey but the one that caught my eye was one that came with a pager. It’s still pricey at $143 but it gives you a 2 mile range if open so probably 1 or so through woods. It’s a Nady MA-200 by Nady Systems, Inc. Most pagers that you can get for car alarms cost $50 so that’s $93 for the basic alarm. It’s a lot more than a cheap $35 unit but I’m a heavy sleeper so it would be nice to have the pager right by my ear. More than likely I could sleep right through a 115db siren.

Re: my previous post.

I decided to check an actual atv catalog and guess what I found? Armed Guard II Pager Alarm. The same price at $147 but two major differences. This one is water proof so you can use it on ATVs, snowmobiles and watercraft. The only problem is there is no siren, just the pager witch either beeps or vibrates.

If your bike does not already have a battery you can easily add one the way Rob described. Maybe I’ll stop by Wal-Mart and see if they have a cheap model with a pager.

To stop the carry off theft just chain two quads together = 800lbs. I have the grade 7 rockwell.

Thanks for the plug.
