Saw the Texas Chainsaw Massacre the other night, and I was wondering if that footage that is supposed to be real is actually real? I know this is a stupid question but I just wanted to know if a couple cops really did get chopped up.....

ok guys i'm here to set the record straight. its amazing how many people think that footage was real and that was it really based on a true story. heres the real story. the footage was all made for the movie. and the based on a true story garbage is pretty much false too. the movie is LOOSELY based on ed gien a wierdo killer guy from wisconsin (not too far from where i live actually). ol eddie gien like to dig up graves of women and use their skin to make wierd things like lampshades, carpet, drums, and masks. he liked to take the skin from their naughty parts and wear it too and also he'd make things out of the nipples and stuff. he also killed 2 people and used the tops of their skulls as bowls. when the cops busted his house they discovered one of the women he killed hanging from the rafters opened up and gutted like a deer. sick huh

Smart move. The way the original movie came about is kind of a long story so I try and keep it short. Basically the producer/writer of the original movie was told the story of Ed Gein as a kid. That story stuck with him and kind of haunted him all his life. That true story inspired him to write the movie "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" I don't want to get into the details of Ed Gein because there are younger readers on this site but let?s just say he was a sick man. There was no psycho family that killed people in Texas, just one sicko of a human being.
