Riding boots
#1
I bought some AXO riding boots today... i got them 30% off... My problem is when i got home to ride my quad i could not bend my foot down to up shift. I have only tried to ride for a few mins but how do i fix this problem will the boots wear in where i can bend my heal or what do I do. The boots seem real stiff like they will always be that way.

hi,
i don't own any boots yet but whe i first tried on my friends thor boots to ride around on they seemed like they would be impossible to wear. i couldn't even kickstart with them on. he said he just wore them around his house a lot when he got them so he could get used to them. then he just did a lot of slow riding no jumping or anything to get used to riding with his boots. so when i get boots that is what im gonna do. even though he rides a dirtbike it shouldn't be any different.

You want your boots stiff, because that is what will save your ankle. They will however, loosen up in time. I just got rid of a pair, because they have no support left. You will miss a few shifts at first, by you will get use to them. Like he said, also raise your shift lever a notch.

First....listen to RacinJason.
Second, and it's probably too late, consider Alpinestars.
I've had a lot of different brands over the years but those boots are comfortable from day 1 if fit properly.
Try wearing your boots around for a while just walking and getting use to them. They will break in if they fit you right. Once you get use to boots you will never go back and if they do what they are intended to do they will save you a painful injury.

I had a pair of AXO RC4's back when, and they were pretty good. My favorite boot now is the Alpinestars Tech 6.

That's the problem when you kids are growing! I at least can buy a pair of boots for the oldest kid (Alpinestar Tech 4S), and then hand them down to the other kids as they grow up.

I believe there are inserts available to help you better fit a loose boot. Ask your dealer or contact Alpinestars direct. You may be able to get the larger boot with the insert and ditch the insert when you grow into the boot.
