I have been reading about the Nissan Titan and I would have to say its going to be a very nice truck. I was reading the "Truckin" Magazine and it gets 0-60 in 7.7secs, has better towing than the new Ford and Chevy, better braking, and etc. I mean its pathetic when this pick up is going to be keeping up with the new Chevy Silverado SS and the Titan isnt even a sport truck. Im a Chevy fan but this Titan is going to kick some ***. I would consider buying one, with all the options including chrome packages, power everything, keyless entry, off-road package, cd audio system and more its going to be $28,000. I mean come on the Chevy Z-71 and Ford F1-50 are at $36,000.

It may end up being a good truck. But I dont like to buy first year models. Expecially not the first model ever. The problems are usually found in the first years. If they prove reliable I might get one.

I hope it is reliable. I really think its going to be, but yea I agree I would be scared to buy one the first year. I really respect Nissan for building this truck, its there first full-size pick up and its coming out like a bang.

I haven't seen the specs, but will someone please put a six foot bed on the four door trucks. Before we got a trailer, we took both of our trucks to go riding. My wife's 2002 Dakota quad cab has to have the tailgate down. My 95 Ranger has the gate closed with the ramps in the bed. Is it really asking too much for another 6 inches. (No, that's not what I'm refering to)

When it comes to trucks I am very old school conservative. I've had a lot of Chevys and a couple of Fords and nothing else. But WOW, look what Nissan did! I can hardly believe it. That does not look like any Jap truck I have ever seen. They actually made a 5.6L V8 (DOHC) that produces 305HP and 379FT-LBS of torque. And with a 9500 LB tow capacity (sounds about right) and a 6'-7" bed!? Not bad! It won't do what my big pig does (check my pics) but it shoudn't have to for what most people need and I don't think it will cost you your first born to keep the thing up. I'm going to have test drive one of these.

Just4Kicks, Im like you. Im old school, I like my domestics and I have always been brand loyal to Chevy. I will always have a domestic truck but a Nissan Titan on the side wouldnt be bad at all, and for the price I would buy me one if I liked the test drive.

Well, my paramedic partner has a Nissan he calls 'Christine', due to it's evil penchant for costing him enormous amounts of money in surprize breakdowns. Again yesterday he needed a new thermostat and told the shop to do it. $130 later he finds that it's not like an american block where it's right on top but is some 2 shop-hour job. Christine lives.

Ooooopppsss......come to think of it......I did have an Isuze Pup at one time. (Chevy Luv...same thing)

Sorry, didn't mean to mislead. I've owned a lot of vehicles and I forgot about that one. I think I had that when I was around 18 or so. Anyway, it had a little 4-banger with manual trans and it was more like a toy than anything....great gas milage though. I bought it well used and got about another 8-months out of her when I started encountering electrical problems. I took it to a drunk mechanic who fixed the short in the system by taking out the fusable link. While driving back home the lights dimmed and I heard a loud POP! With that my little Pup was fried. But hey, that was then and this is now I guess.

well my dad has a lil '85 Nissan work (take off trash) pickup thats about to have 200,000 miles on her and the only thing thats went wrong is a blown head gasket, thats it. Never changed the air filter, only changes the oil now and then. Doesnt burn no oil, never has smoked, nothing has gone wrong with the manuel tranny. Even in cold weather, the damn thing will crank right up. I recently rebuilt my 305CI in my Silverado and the Nissan still cranks faster. So I got good proof that a Nissan can be pretty reliable.
