Then call me vader.

I think by next year at this time (after Ice racing season), I will have sold the raptor, got a cr250, and I'll keep the prarie for work and a little dirty play.

You won't miss the Raptor maddog56 thats for sure.
Bike is just a lot more fun to ride.
I think next spring i'm going to get a 2nd bike but i'll get a YZ250. I've heard they have a lot better powerband for a 2-stroke.

But i'm really thinking hard about racing MX if i do that a 2 stroke 250 is kind of a hand full for someone new to racing then i'll pick up a CRF250 and race the 125 class. Which i think would be more fun then killing my self in the 250 /450f class.

Yeah that 250 class is killer. I used to race bikes when I was a little kid, Honda CR60. Ice, mx, and other stuff. I really miss that. Maybe a 125 would be a better idea. If I get a bike I'll be going back to a 2 stroke.

I have to agree i like the 2-strokes so much better. That's why i got the 2-stroke 250 the punch it packs is awesome.

But i've been told by racers the 250 four strokes and really spanking the 125's because they have so much more torque.

If you ask me they should be in a different class.

I love the sound and power delivery of a 2-stroke, but the writing is on the wall. The race governing bodies aren't going to make a separate class for the 250/450 4-strokes; as the 4-strokes become faster, the racers will be switching from the 2 to the 4-strokes. The manufacturers won't spend any more R&D money on the 2-strokes. Eventually the 2-strokes will be discontinued. Probably sooner than later. Remember this post, as much as I like a 2-stroke, this will come to pass.
