New car or new truck...that is the question...
#1
Hey fellas, I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I'm in the market for a new vehicle and can't decide between a new truck or new car. If I get a truck, I'm going for the GMC 2500 HD Extra Cab. If I go with the car, I'm leaning heavily towards the the Acura TL. Now I just have to make the choice. The truck would be awesome, but I live the BIG city and with all the traffic around here, gas would kill me, especially now that its over 2 bucks a gallon. Another problem with that is parking. There are very limited parking spaces where I live and whenever there is one available its usually too small for a truck. With the car, my gas mileage wouldn't be so bad and I could park that thing anywhere. I can already guess that most of you would say go with the truck. But I just thought I'd share my situation. Thanks for any input.

Come now, nut up and go for the truck! J/K
I personally need a truck so it's not much of a choice for me. You're right though, the gas will kill you and parking is very often a b!tch at best if you live in the city. I would say that if you have another way to get your toys to the sand and if you aren't really going to use the truck as a "truck" very often, go for the car.

Two words. Monster Truck. Sure gas would be a problem, but parking, just park on top of 'em. Seriously, if you have a good truck, a nice car would be a good choice. You may want to go somewhere formal, where a truck may be out of place. Of course, in Texas, you can tell if it's a formal affair. The trucks have all been washed.

Get a medium sized truck! Better fuel economy, easier too park, and can still haul some stuff....even the Rap if need be....

I will speak from experience. I have an Acura TL and a HD 2500 crewcab. Drove the truck to Seattle last summer, parked it in my sister's driveway, and that sucker didn't move until we went home. If you're in the big city, and are looking for a daily driver, get the Acura. The truck will just give you headaches in that environment. If you're in Montana like me, a crewcab is a sporty lil' driver.
