#1
Never owned a Jet-Ski in my life. But i want something that will get up and go.
Whats the best brand to look for. Polaris, Yamaha, See-doo, what is a Tiger Shark Daytona, or a Kawi.
What some of fastest running ones? Lots of pep and top speed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....! Thanks in advance....

The SEA DOO RXP has 215cv.And with enough work it will reach 300cv.By the way,its supercharged,3cilinder in-line,4 stroke,1.494cc,two seater jet ski.
But stock it will get to just past 70mph(I dont know how much that is in knots).

3 and 4 seaters have more power, but are heavier and less mobile. I really like the seadoo rxp. It has 215 horses and is a 2-seater. I believe its the highest hp dual seater in the same. Doubt you'll find many used ones though as its quiet new

2 seaters are kind of tippy..i personally would go with a 3-seater. I would go with either a Polaris or a Sea-Doo. Polaris made an SLTX (i think its an SLTX, not sure) 1050 2-stroke. a buddy of mine has one, and it is FAST.

I'm not looking to purchase a new one. I'm looking to get like a 95-98 model. Like to stay around the $3000 area. I have looked in Boat Traders and stuff and i can get many for $2500 or so.
i found one i like.....tell me whatcha think? 1994 Polaris sl 750 can get it for about 2200$? I dont want a racing one but one with a lil pep. You think i would be happy with it?
or what about a 97' 760 yamaha wave runner?
Not sure what i need to get....I'm definately getting around a 97 or 98 model. Any more help guys? Thanks

I have some experience with Skis. I have a 1995 Polaris SLX (2-Seater 780cc) and a 1990 Kawasaki JS440 (Stand Up)
They are a blast but if you think some ATV parts are high wait until you work on these things! $$$$$
From what I have seen the best Ski in the $2500 range for reliability, after-market and performance would be a Kawasaki ZXI-900 they are 2-Seaters and VERY quick for their size. However they are easy to learn to ride with. Also some mid 90's model Sea-Doos can be had at a good price and are very reliable.
Stay away from older Polaris models I speak from experience! Their new stuff is great however.
If you want to get in cheap look for a Kawasaki X-2 it is kind of a Hybrid sit-down/stand-up machine that can be had in MINT condition for $1500 usually. The market just isn't really big for them, they are an excellent buy.
Remember when you ride to always wear a life vest, no matter how good you can swim.
Good Luck
