1993 mustang 5.0 with exhaust, new paint, etc. or 1995 accord

they are both gonna be around 3k, maybe a little less.

the mustang will probably need some work, but then again i'm 15 and have a year to fix it up before i am (legally) driving anyway.

the accord is pretty much mint, and my uncle owns it now, so i know its a reliable car.

the mustang is a 5 speed and the accord is an auto. i *think* i want the manual, but i'm just not sure if that's the greatest idea for my first car... should i be paying attention to learning road laws and all that, or is the manual not that big of a deal?

there are more factors of course but these are the main ones... what do you think??

thanks

Check it... I can see a kid either wrapping himself around a pole or a ricer in the making. If I'm wrong, get the accorn... it'll last forever and a day (sounds like your unc has taken care of it) and you'll save tons of $ over modding a 5.0.

Although, ain't nothing like roasting the rubber on a 5.0.

I think one phone call to your insurance agent will answer your question for you.

If you get the 'stang you better have a great job to pay for all the insurance. You'll pay twice as much for insurance in the first year then you will for the car. You can always get the honda and fix it up to go fast. Either way be carefull and don't kill yourself.

i know the insurance is a ton, but i think i'm gonna get a stang... maybe not right now ( like i said, i'm only 15) but a mustang or something like that. i thought about it, and i figure, the mustang is definitly the car i want, so why spend my $$ on something that i won't enjoy. and don't worry, i am not plannning on wrapping it around a tree.... i won't waste that hard earned cash that quickly!

Hey man do what I did. I'm sick of all these people running around in coffee can exhaust rice burners. I'm glad one of your choices was an american car. I'm buying a 1990 Lincoln Towncar. Ride in style and comfort baby! It has a 5.0L V8 with TONs of potential. The insurance companys like it because its a 4 door land yacht! But lots of iron to keep me safe and lots of leather to keep me comfortable!

better check with the insurance first. the insurance company i'm with won't insure a v8 mustang to anyone under 18 and when i insured mine with them i had to sign a waiver saying nobody but me or my wife would drive it because we have two kids. as for the ricer remark. make sure you are directing it to the right ones. i also own a supra and yes it has the large muffler at the rear. a ricer is someone that puts stickers, air dams, spoilers and othe dressup parts on there car to mak it look fast. just because a car has a load coffe can exhaust as someone put it doesn't mean it's a ricer but instead could be part of the performance up grade just like changing out the can on a quad. there's plenty of american cars out there that have been riced out too.
